Our History
Our roots in Toronto date back to 1910 and the establishment of M.H. McWilliams & Son Insurance Agency, which later became Paul A. McWilliams and Son Insurance Agency Ltd. Allan Chamney, our current President, joined the brokerage ranks in 1989 following a successful 20-year career at Royal Insurance Company. In 1994, his insurance brokerage, Chamney Currie Insurance Brokers Ltd., merged with Paul A. McWilliams', headed by third generation Chuck McWilliams, to form Chamney McWilliams Inc. In 1996 Chamney McWilliams Inc. merged with Dresher Insurance Brokers Ltd., a company founded in 1968 by Walter Dresher and headed by second-generation Richard Dresher & Rima Dresher. The result of this merger is today's CMD Insurance Services Inc. Over the many years, our brokerage has been strengthened by the addition of staff and clients from H.V. Matts Insurance Brokers, Dependable Insurance, Gammon Insurance Brokers and John Parco (JDK Insurance Brokers). Our Strategy
